In my local town, there is a charity shop that sells postcards for 10p. I can't say where my fascination comes from but it became a ritual to go in to look through each one. Holding them in my left, collecting my favourites in my right hand, soon enough I gained a collection of vintage postcards that documented each corner of the world.
The possibility these postcards hold in my eyes is unfathomable. Using my old HP printer scanner bed I created the images seen below. Dragging the postcards across the bed whilst it was scanning then using photoshop to clean up the images and manipulate their colours - this became the scan project.
